Important regulations for Lantern Village residents and businesses
- Community Standards
One of the goals of the City is to protect our citizens and their property from “conditions which are …detrimental to property values and community appearance…”
Following are excerpts and summaries of some of the City ordinances that support this goal. For complete information please refer to the City website.
*Property Maintenance (Public Nuisance): Chapter 6.14...
(e) Buildings and structures are to be maintained with no decay or deterioration or unsightly appearance.(g) No broken windows.
(h) No overgrown, dead, decayed, or hazardous vegetation.
(i) Removal of weeds over 6 inches in height.
(m) No deteriorating parking areas (potholes, cracks).
(s) Front yards, parkways, landscaped setback areas are to be maintained so no excessive dust or debris becomes hazardous or unsightly.
(t) Property vegetation overgowth is not to encroach over or upon public right-of-ways creating a safety or impediment to public travel.
*Trash Cans (Containers): Chapter 6.10.040
(c) No bin, cart, rolloff box or other container shall be placed adjacent to or in a street for collection more than 24 hours prior to collection time and shall be removed from street within 12 hours after collection.
(g) All trash containers shall be stored out of public view in a side or rear yard or enclosed area.
*No Parking: Chapter 12.08.016
(h) No parking on any street on street cleaning between days and times posted.
